Leon Stolarski Fine Wines
Leon Stolarski Fine Wines feature some of the best wines that the Languedoc, Roussillon, Southern Rhône and Beaujolais regions have to offer. We do not stock "agency" wines - every one of the wines on our list is imported directly from the producers, all of whom we have visited and, in many cases, formed close working relationships with. Our philosophyWe currently feature about 75 different wines on our list, with wines from some of the best producers we have discovered, over more than a decade of travelling these regions. Our particular strength lies in the classic red blends of the Languedoc , Roussillon and Southern Rhone , from grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Carignan etc, together with some exciting and unusual varietal wines that are a far cry from the ordinary fare to be found in most U.K supermarkets and wine shops. We also have an excellent selection of fine Beaujoais "Cru" wines. We will continue to add further wines, all of which must meet the strict criteria that we set. Put simply, we only sell wines that we are happy to drink ourselves, and at prices that we believe are a fair indication of the quality of the wine in the bottle. Our winesWe do not stock "agency" wines - that is to say, we import our wines directly from the growers. We have visited all of these growers and tasted the wines, both in their "caves" and again at home, in Nottingham. This way, we can identify the wines that stand the test of being drunk in our own environment - namely, the changeable British climate! The majority of the wines are exclusive to us in the U.K, and the ones that aren't are difficult to find elsewhere. They will not be the sort of wines you find on the shelves of the supermarkets or High Street chains - that is not what we are about, since we will be featuring wines that are made (in the main) by smaller growers, whose emphasis is on quality, rather than quantity. Our aim is to become one of the U.K's foremost suppliers of these products - wines that have been hand-crafted by skilled and dedicated winemakers and provide a true expression of the region in which they are made. We also feature some wines from the more dynamic co-operatives, who are dedicated to improving and promoting the wines of their particular regions, and are now making wines that are as good as, and sometimes superior to, those of the specialist growers from the same area. Our promise to our customersWine is a living, breathing thing and can sometimes therefore be unpredictable. We will of course, offer a guarantee of quality; if any wine proves to be faulty in any way, as a direct result of the winemaking or bottling process, we will always replace/refund/credit it without question. |
